Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Design, Develop and Implement test plans and test cases.
• Log bugs and track issues to closure.
• Work closely with QA team to develop best practices.
• Research tools and techniques to improve the efficiency and coverage of testing.
• Collaborate with Development and QA engineers to ensure a thorough understanding of product requirements and operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned including lab setup.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years SQA experience including intern / co-op experience.
• Experience developing and implementing test plans for complex distributed systems.
• Experience testing Java and web based products.
• Experience in creating, enhancing and running automation scripts. Scripting experience in PERL and/or shell in a LINUX environment.
• Must have a fundamental understanding of TCP/IP and client /server networking.
• Working knowledge of database systems. Including one or more of the following: Oracle, MySQL, SQL, DB2, Sybase.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent debugging and problem solving skills.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Other valuable skills:

• Understanding of network systems or security systems, including routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, or host based.
• Experience testing network management systems.
• Agile Development or similar methodologies.
• Experience performing LINUX/UNIX or Windows systems administration.
