TIZOR JOINS DATA GOVERNANCE COUNCIL FORMED BY IBM

- Helps Clarify, Resolve Data Governance Challenges Related to Information Security, Privacy and Corporate Compliance -

MAYNARD, Mass., August 2, 2006 – Tizor, a leading provider of data auditing and protection solutions for the data center, today announced it has joined the Data Governance Council. The group, which was formed by IBM in 2005 along with dozens of leading corporations, institutions and technology solution providers, is a global effort to develop a ‘blueprint’ of common solutions for challenges that apply to security, privacy, trust and corporate compliance issues.

Data Governance is the process by which companies govern appropriate access to their critical data by measuring operational risk and controlling security exposures. The Data Governance Council is working to redefine the management of data governance policy, the impact of policy on business processes and practices, and the enforcement of policy in IT infrastructure, information management and organizational behavior. Members of the Council are collaborating on ways to address these issues using IBM and business partner solutions and concepts.

“The Data Governance Council aims to address one of the biggest challenges for businesses today -- managing and controlling the mountains of data that reside within the company,” said Steven Adler, chair of the Data Governance Council and program director of IBM Data Governance Solutions. “Tizor’s participation in the Council is a welcomed addition as their compliance and auditing expertise will be a valuable asset in helping customers evaluate and maintain the integrity of their data.”

Tizor’s addition to the Council is the result of its innovative vision in responding to the growing need for enterprises to manage and evaluate their corporate compliance and data security posture for all of their critical data—structured or unstructured--whether it resides on databases, file servers or mainframe applications. Mantra offers the most comprehensive data activity auditing and protection solution in the industry today, ensuring that any enterprise can benefit from real-time data auditing without degrading the performance of deployed applications. Employing Tizor’s patent-pending Behavioral Fingerprinting® technology, Mantra solutions enable the highest level of compliance assurance for regulations, including SOX, HIPAA, SB 1386 and PCI, as well as enabling corporate best practices for data security and privacy.

“We are very excited about our participation in the Data Governance Council. The efforts of the Data Governance Council to establish a foundation for trust for electronic information provide a critical component in building a flexible yet secure basis for sensitive data management and exchange,” comments president and CEO of Tizor Systems, Joel Rosen. “Our focus is to support this process with products that help to both measure the effectiveness of governance policies and also to identify potential policy violations before they create problems for businesses or consumers. We look forward to working closely with the Council to bring measurable benefits to all data stakeholders.”
