Transparent Network Appliance

Mantra has been architected as a transparent network appliance that scales to meet the needs of even the largest global enterprises without impacting performance on production data servers or applications. Mantra network monitoring requires local appliance setup only—no reconfiguration on production servers, software, network or applications—a key benefit for overburdened IT staffs. Multiple appliances, deployed across one or more data centers, can be inserted as needed anywhere in the network and managed from centralized or distributed admin dashboards.

Compliance Templates

Mantra Compliance Policy Templates accelerate implementation of auditing for key standards and regulations like SOX 404 Compliance, PCI Audit, CA 1386/1950, HIPAA, and others. Easy to understand and implement, these customizable, pre-configured templates help you hit the ground running with your compliance programs, and ensure that those efforts provide immediate value to the enterprise. English-like policy language allows for the easy creation of custom policies as well.

Three-Way Auditing

Mantra is the only Data Auditing and Protection Solution to offer Three-way Data Auditing via the Mantra Enterprise Local Audit Architecture. In addition to providing real-time, policy-based auditing of network traffic; Mantra also provides agent-less and agent-based E-TAP local auditing--offering enterprises the choice of monitoring local access to data in the way that best suits their local auditing and privileged user monitoring needs. Three-way Auditing is the most effective way to enforce separation of duties, critical for meeting the requirements of data compliance regulations.

Three-way auditing is a powerful tool for comprehensive data monitoring because the combination of agent-less and agent-based auditing provides complete visibility into data activity including activity such as stored procedures and database trigger activity. Three-way auditing provides visibility into bundled applications and eliminates back doors to circumvent auditing. It also allows you to audit encrypted connections to databases.

1. Mantra Network Data Auditing

Mantra monitors, reports and alerts on all critical data activity in relational databases, file servers and mainframe applications. Policy-driven and very high performance, Mantra audits over 50,000 transactions per second with no impact on networks or applications.

Mantra network auditing is not inline and completely transparent to users. It quickly discovers where critical data is located and uses that insight to create auditing policies for compliance with data-related regulations and data theft detection.

2. Agent-less Local Auditing

Mantra is the only agent-less solution for monitoring all data activity, whether it occurs over the network or via a local terminal connection to the database server. For local auditing, Mantra collects audit data from the DBMS systems in a highly optimized manner. Then it consolidates this data with events gathered from the network into a single audit repository, enabling uniform compliance reporting and fine-grained forensic event correlation. This capability is critical for environments that require privileged user activity monitoring. Plus, it allows you to maintain strict segregation of duties between DBAs and security and compliance staff.

3. E-TAP Agent-based Local Auditing

Mantra E-TAP agent monitors all local database activity via a lightweight, non-intrusive agent or probe that captures all database activity and sends it to the Mantra appliance where the data is decoded, analyzed for policy matches and stored for reporting and forensics. E-Tap requires no changes to your database and has no performance impact.

E-TAP enables separation of duties and is transparent to both the database and to DBAs. With E-Tap you get the visibility you need to meet compliance requirements and detect data theft or leakage from the core and there is no need to turn on native database auditing.
